I just love Hannah. We originally found each other through brand repping, which is a whole world of fabulous if you haven’t yet discovered it. She is a homeschooling mom, creative, meticulous, hilarious, and generally awesome. She had a vision for the way she wanted her brand, Leotudes, to progress and we brainstormed on the best way to make that happen.
The result was a super fun morning spent with these four girls! We laughed a lot, danced a lot, had some yummy snacks, and played a lot of ring around the rosey.
Photographing a group of kids is never easy. Never. But these little ladies were all pro. It helps when they’re all a bunch of fun and their play was way better than any direction I could have given them. But they were also amazing at following the plan I had and it made the morning sweet and delightful. I think this video pretty much sums that up.
When doing these types of shoots, it’s also fun to get creative with how I shoot “flatlays.” I do love a traditional, actually flat, product shot styled in fun ways. But I seem to be gravitating more these days to products in a more natural environment. So we played around a little with a few different options for photographing her leotards, which are incredibly soft and well made.
The creative process goes back and forth a lot until inspiration strikes, but that’s part of what I love about working with makers and creators. They have a vision and it’s my job to depict their brand and capture an image to make that vision come to life.
